Variety: Romanesca da Taglio / Cichorium endivia
Endive is an annual plant found around the Mediterranean, grown in warm areas mainly in the spring months. Its Greek name, antidi, comes from the Latin endivia.
Endive contains potassium, sulphur and phosphorus.
Cultivated chicories (endives) are grown all year round; they are broad-leaved and milder than wild chicory.
Endives contain vitamins C, A, B1 and B2 and carotenoids, as well as minerals such as iron, potassium, sodium, phosphorus and magnesium.
Endive is delicious raw in salads, or boiled and served with olive oil and lemon as Greek horta.
There are three types of endive: curly, broad-leaved (escarole) and wild chicory.
For best results, combine with one of our fertilisers (use once a month after the first month from planting).
Endive germination and growing instructions are included.
