The smoke tree (Cotinus coggygria) is a flowering shrub, popular as an ornamental for its attractive foliage and unique flowers. It can also be trained into a beautiful little bonsai tree.
It's a deciduous shrub that can reach 5 metres tall. It has rounded, oval leaves with a waxy sheen in spring and summer. In autumn the leaves turn vivid shades of red, orange and yellow.
What makes the smoke tree so special?
The most interesting feature of this plant is its flowers. They're small and inconspicuous, but surrounded by long, feathery plumes that look like smoke – hence the common name. These plumes form in shades of pink, purple and white.
Smoke tree germination/growing instructions are included with every order.
