Hoya kerrii is a climbing plant that can grow up to 4 metres. Its stems are about 7 mm thick, and its leaves are around 6 cm wide and 5 mm thick. It comes from the tropical forests of Asia. It grows fairly slowly and produces white flowers with a deep red centre.
The hallmark of this variety is the heart shape of its leaves – which is why it is also called the Valentine hoya or sweetheart plant. A single leaf is often sold rooted in a pot, and as it grows it keeps its perfect heart shape.
It is suitable for indoors, as it doesn't need a lot of sun. Being succulent, it can be propagated from cuttings. It needs little watering – water only when the soil has dried out completely. It is ideal for display near a window.
Plant height: 15 cm
Pot diameter: 6.5 cm
