Anaheim Hot Pepper 1g Seeds
Capsicum annuum
The Anaheim pepper belongs to the species Capsicum annuum, which originates from the Americas. Varieties of this species are bright green when mature, although many turn red, brown or even black when fully ripe. It is named after the city of Anaheim in California and is a very common variety in the United States, where it is used in a wide range of recipes and foods.
Anaheim is a medium-sized plant, no taller than 60 cm, while its fruit reaches about 20 cm and matures in 75-80 days.
The Anaheim pepper is ideal for cooking, as its firm walls are perfect for stuffing, while its texture and flavour are very close to the classic peppers used in Greece, making it an excellent alternative. It leaves a sweet aftertaste and works with many dishes and flavours. On the Scoville scale, Anaheim ranges from 500 to 2,500 SHU and is classed as mild.
It is also known as California chilli or Magdalena.
For best results, combine it with one of our fertilisers.

Chilli peppers – the general name for all hot peppers – are the fruits of the genus Capsicum, part of the Solanaceae family. They are used in cooking to add heat to dishes. What makes them hot is capsaicin and related compounds. Chilli peppers originated in Mexico and, from the 16th century onwards, spread all over the world, where they came to be used in cooking and traditional medicine. China is the world's number one producer of green chillies, accounting for around 50% of production!
