The Rio Grande tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is an Italian-type tomato bred for paste and sauce production.
A determinate (bush) variety, 90–95 days, suited to the main growing season. Rio Grande plants are of medium vigour, non-climbing, with compact foliage. The tomatoes are medium-sized, usually over 90 g, firm and easy to pick.
A strong plant with good leaf cover and fast early growth. Rio Grande is one of the most widely used tomatoes in Greece, as it meets growers' needs well.
Well-shaped, oval fruit, 85–95 g.
Resistant to V and F1 & Brix 5.2%.
For best results, combine with one of our fertilisers (use once a month after the first month from planting).
