The onion is one of the most popular vegetables – no table is complete without it. Spring onions are white at the base, with hollow leaves that turn green from the middle to the tip.
The onion (Allium cepa) is a vegetable known since ancient times, probably originating in Central Asia. Both the leaves and the bulb – known as spring onion and dry onion respectively – are edible, with a characteristic pungent taste and aroma that mellows when cooked.
For best results, combine with one of our fertilisers (use once a month after the first month from planting).
