Lithops, also known as “living stones”, are one of nature's most impressive creations. These tiny, pebble-like plants have evolved to survive in the harshest deserts of southern Africa. Their unique appearance and resilience have made them favourites with collectors worldwide.

They look exactly like a stone. This camouflage protects them from animals and helps them retain moisture in dry desert conditions. Their thick, fleshy leaves, divided into two lobes, store water like tiny reservoirs, allowing them to go for long periods without water.

Beneath their stony looks lies a surprise that will enchant you: their spectacular flowers. When conditions are right, usually in autumn, a brightly coloured flower emerges from the centre of the leaves, creating a stunning contrast with the plant's “stony” body.
