True aloe (Aloe vera) is famous for the rich gel inside its leaves, which has been used for centuries in skin care products.
Aloe vera is a succulent, so it doesn't need much care, especially when it comes to watering. Overwatering can rot the roots and kill the plant. Water aloe vera once a week in spring and autumn, even less in winter, and up to twice a week in summer. Only water when the soil in the pot is nearly dry.
You can take an offset from the plant, plant it in soil and have a new plant!
