Saguaro – the giant of the desert!
Imagine a cactus that touches the clouds! The giant saguaro is one of the most impressive plants in the world. Native to the deserts of Arizona and Mexico, it can grow over 15 metres tall in the wild.
Why grow a saguaro?
The saguaro impresses with its size and beauty. It is a symbol of endurance and adaptability in nature, has great cultural significance for Native Americans and is an icon of the American West. It is a unique addition to any cactus and succulent collection.
Although it only flowers after many years, the wait is well worth it. Its large, striking white flowers that open at night are a unique sight!
Although it will never reach the size of a giant desert cactus at home, you can grow your own saguaro and bring a touch of the desert into your home. Place it in a very bright spot – it needs strong light, ideally a south-facing window – while young plants should not get too many hours of harsh direct sun. Use a free-draining cactus compost and water only when the soil is completely dry.
Start your own collection by growing a Saguaro Giant!
*Germination/growing instructions for the “Saguaro Giant” cactus are included with every purchase.
