Euphorbia enopla (pincushion euphorbia) is a wonderful shrubby, cactus-like succulent native to South Africa. It is known for the deep green colour of its stems and its striking red spines.
This succulent is unusual in its flowering, which takes place in spring: male and female flowers grow on separate plants, so when it flowers you can tell whether your plant is male or female!
Like most succulents, Euphorbia enopla needs little care. It loves sunny spots and can also be placed outdoors. It needs moderate watering, only once the soil has dried out well since the last watering. Beware of overwatering to avoid root rot!
Use a suitable cactus and succulent compost and plant it in well-draining soil.
Euphorbia enopla is a wonderful addition to your plant collection and an ideal gift for friends and family!
